Headstock
- Oil Tuning Gears
- Tighten Gear Casings
- Adjust Tuning Gear tension if applicable
- Tighten Ferrule and Nuts where necessary
- Clean/Polish Surface
Neck
- Clean Player Residue from Fingerboard
- Polish Frets
- Tighten Neck Screws if applicable
- Condition Fretboard
Body
- Clean out bridge pin hole and saddle slot
- Clean and polish saddle
- Condition Bridge (if wood)
- Clean under saddle springs (for electric)
- Tighten Screws for Pickups, Pickguard, Output Jack, Straps, Bridge Plate, and Saddles
- Clean and Polish surface
Restring:
- Measure neck relief and string height with old strings at standard tuning
- Safely remove old strings - Never clipping at tension!
- Install strings using appropriate techniques for electric, acoustic, or classical strings
- Clip strings at tuning pegs to avoid case-tearing edges
- Tune to Standard
- Pre-Stretch strings
- Retune
- Play Test
- Apply conditioning to strings for longevity
- Final Tuning
